Peugeot 308THP TKOs Nissan Sentra Turbo

Last Thursday around 4:30am as I was cruising at speed limits from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur on Karak Expressway suddenly a Nissan Sentra Turbo turned on hi-beams from behind and overtook me in an unfavorable manner.

At first I was 'forced' to follow the car from a comfortable distance while sustaining the same speeds without any intention to 'cucuk' - just to observe and record the driver's behavior, his skill as well as the raw power/handling of his car. Admittedly the car looks powerful on the straight/level part of the Expressway until the last long ascend before Genting Sempah Tunnel where it began to lose power.

Could it be due to mismatch between the gearbox and the engine torque curve... or the driver picked the wrong gear?

The Nissan Sentra Turbo with big wheels/tyres, big exhaust box/tailpipe which made lots of big noise was Technically Knocked Out (TKO) by a fully laden stock Peugeot 308 THP (carrying 4 adults including the driver).

I think the Nissan Turbo is powerful enough and the driver is a good sprinter, but it was against a marathoner, hee.. heeee. Wrong territory for him, unfortunately. :))

Alif... correct, I have been observing modded cars with BOT are generally like that. Even though their cars seem to have more horses the power bands are actually very narrow and most of them do not use close ratio gear boxes, hence lose power when they up shift to 4th gear for speeds beyond 140kph. While those who prefer to remain in 3rd gear will get their engine overheated in no time.

Those sprinters are normally good in 2nd and 3rd gear and let them make the first move! he heee...
