Recently, the Peugeot 308 once again emerged triumphant in a contest against its rivals...
"... and this time it’s not just the Ford Focus. The 308 fended off challenges from the Mitsubishi Lancer GT, Mazda3 Sport, Hyundai i30, Nissan Sylphy Tuned by Impul, Fiat Bravo GT, and Honda Civic to take home the Midsize Sedan/Hatchback category award in the recent Autocar Asean Car of the Year Awards 2009.
An unnamed representative of the judging panel remarked, “Choosing the Peugeot 308 as the winner was a surprisingly easy decision. Combining value with practicality, a lengthy spec sheet and great dynamics, it deservedly won over some very talented cars.”
For the awards, the cars were evaluated on the grounds of styling, utility, safety, features, build quality, brand image, ride, handling, economy, performance and value for money."

Unc D,
That's great news !! Finally, some recognition from local car mags !
Everything in Peugeot 308 seems to be perfectly designed. Even better than in some medium priced 'luxury' saloons. The only comments I would like to make are:
1. Little usable glove compartment due to a fuse box 'wrongly' placed in there. Underseat trays are the alternatives, but too shallow for drink cans/bottles. Storage in front doors are large enough though, even larger than those in Merc.
2. Rear seats don't have enough back reclination [most conti cars, esp hatches are like that]. It would be perfect if the seatback can be adjusted like the those in Latio Sport. There is 'ample' boot space in 308 to accomodate seat movemment actually.
Plus points are a long list of features available even some 2-liter saloons owners are just dreaming about...
we hav to celebrate this! hehe..
Muaz,
We have been celebrating life with Peugeot 308 since day 1.
