New Record High for RON97

The price of RON97 petrol has increased by 20 sen to RM2.90 per litre from today. That means those 308 owners who live on RON97 will have to fork out RM60 more every full tank than most ppl pay on RON95.

Malaysian Petrol Dealers Association president Datuk Hashim Othman said on Wednesday, May 5th. 2011:

"The price of RON97 fluctuates as the Government has lifted the subsidy for this petrol...The price of RON97 [however]might go down in future, but this depends on the political situation in the Middle East as well as natural disasters"

Previously, the Petroleum Dealers Association of Malaysia Deputy President, Datuk Zulkifli Mokti said the increase was due to the rise in the price of crude oil in the global market.

The price of RON97, which was floated according to the prevailing oil market price due to the crisis in the Middle East.

RON95 petrol remains at RM1.90 per litre. Legaaa.... been using RON95 ever since!
