Peugeot reveals RCZ HYbrid4

Peugeot reveals RCZ HYbrid4 ahead of Frankfurt debut. The new RCZ Hybrid4 will not be petrol/electric commuter, instead, it will be coupled with a turbo diesel motor. Diesel is more common in Europe and hence we can understand the unusual combination Savings of up to 35% in fuel consumption are expected based on equivalent engine performance.
The system also opens up possibilities of a 4WD solution that uses an electric motor at the rear, without the disadvantages of mechanical connections. The diesel engine and the electric motor can produce a combined maximum output of 200-horsepower - It combines a 163-horsepower 2.0-liter diesel with stop and start that drives the front wheels and an electric motor with 27 HP and temporarily, 37 HP, that powers the rear wheels. At this point of time RCZ HYbrid4 is still in its experimental stages though.
