Better Place for GPS Device

Mounting Garmin NUVI GPS on suction pad to the windscreen is quite common but it could be too far to operate. There is a better place to mount it, especially for a second set...

... simply by sticking the suction pad onto the circular plate that comes with the package then insert it into the compartment below head unit.

No drilling, no screwing and no cutting needed. It just perfectly 'ngam' in there.

Hi uncle.. Enjoyed very much reading your blog and impressed with the tech know how and care into the car.

I just would like to ask if there is any solution to the LHD wipers configuration. Thank you in advance and keep on blogging :)

Thanks kL.

BTW I can live with the default wiper configuration. Quite familiar with it since my first conti-car which I bought 15yrs ago.

Dear Uncle,

Thanks for your very informative blog. May I know which Garmin model mount/dock you are using? I'm having a Nuvi 1350 and the mount is curved so it can't really fit into that compartment...

Hi KV,
I used Garmin Nuvi 610 standard ball and socket mount for the illustration.

Other Garmin Nuvi socket mount can also be used on "ball" head.

Now I'm using Garmin Nuvi 2575R

Aha...thanks for the info. Newer Garmin models come with the socket mounts that are curved which can't fit that compartment in the centre panel...I need to find something like yours in the picture that is straighter...

Thank you for the info!
