Time to replace Diverter Valve or Blow-off Valve (BOV)...

After solving knocking problem, another one popped up. There is no more typical turbo blow off "phishhh..." sound coming out of my308. I already suspected something went wrong within the BOV.

When it is opened up for inspection I got something like this...

Is this plastic component (a sleeve) purposely designed to fail as shown in the picture ? Looks like it is made of brittle recycle plastic.

Unlike exhaust wastegate, this intake BOV is not subject to extreme temperature so I tried to "McGyver" using superglue and reinforced with Rapid Araldite resin as shown...

....  it works and produces higher pitch "phisssssheeew..." sound now. Nonetheless I think it won't last long, sooner I have to replace it with better components similar to those used on VAG 2.0 TFSI BOV.

Already ordered @eBay. According to eTuners...  internal parts of stock PSA BOV are interchangeable with the one designed for VAG 2.0 TFSI (part no. 06H 145 710 D) which is also made by the same company, Pierburg.

The boost lever will be lower and fluctuates bcos the vw cannot close properly. It take longer time to build up and leak at a sudden acceletation. Pickup will slower and the car will be sluggish in my 3008 after change to vw component. Put back original and all back to normal.

Thanks mike but there is no lever such lever in intake diverter valve.
What lever you are referring to anyway? As far as I know, only exhaust wastegate got an actuator/lever. Two different things.

BOV on 3008 and 6-speed 308 engine is a new design that prevents from using VAG parts. Earlier 4-speed 308 no problem.

VAG Diverter Valve parts may not be suitable for 156bhp EP6-CDT engine found on 3008, 6-speed AT 308 and RCZ

Just sharing, VAG BOV upgrade not possible on my 308THP-4speed year 2009. VAG BOV was bought locally.

My stock BOV has similar problem as mentioned by Uncle DIY where the plastic ring was broken. However it is still functioning well, no boost pressure lost/drop. I'm using Diagbox for monitoring/diagnose.

myPeugeot 308T 4-speed auto 2009 (w/o panaromic roof) can use VAG diverter valve internal parts. In order to fix it I must remove the plastic ring adjacent to the yellow o-ring.
