Probably at 10,000km, 20,000km or 30,000km most of us spent around RM300 ++ for the oil, filter cart, etc.. when we sent our 308T to the SC for normal scheduled services. It seems that the maintenance cost is relatively low.
As the 2nd anniversary is just around the corner and at the same time the odometer is approaching 40,000km, it is the time to imagine and get the feeling of how much it really cost$ to keep a lion [or any other car in the same category] in a long run.
At this time around we are going to cut a big hole in our pocket for...
1. Normal maintenance for every 10,000km
2. Replacement of spark plugs, coolant, brake fluid, wiper blades, etc...
3. Brake Disk skimming and Replacement of Brake pads
4. Replacement of tyres
5. Renewal of insurance and road tax [and pay traffic summons if any]
6. Others as deem necessary
All in all, after 2yrs the following table suggests the figure will look like more or less for a 308 Turbo....
It is around RM2,800.00 per month is required on average for the first 2 years! If you can get away with the accessories, you will still need more than RM2.5k pm to keep the lion alive. About the same [i.e tak banyak lari] frm my estimate almost 2 yrs ago. Only if u got it for free, you only need less than RM1k pm [on avg] to feed and groom the lion... and that 's excluding 'hospital' bills when the lion got sick.
If anyone of u want to get rid of the lion, it is best to do it before 2nd yr anniversary or clocking 40,000km whichever comes first. U may save at least RM4~5k .
